Description
Twelve pounds for a licensed knit is genuinely odd pricing, in a good way.
Acrylic knit is the standard fabric for Christmas jumpers: warm, cheap, machine-tolerant and not remotely luxurious. The point is that it is knitted rather than printed — the design is in the fabric, so it does not degrade the way a graphic sweatshirt does. Getting that with a licence attached for twelve pounds is the anomaly here.
Whether the design works depends on how you feel about the logo. An MTV jumper is a nostalgia signal aimed at people who watched music television when it showed music, and it will read as slightly baffling to anyone under thirty. That is fine if it is the point.
Worth knowing
- Acrylic pills where it rubs — under a bag strap, at the sides — after a few wears
- Cool wash, dry flat, and it will hold shape for years
- Regular fit through the body, so not oversized; size up if you want it roomy
- Warm. Too warm for a small indoor party, right for a cold venue
Good value as a second jumper for the weeks when one is in the wash.
