A knitted hoodie is an odd hybrid, and it solves a real problem.
The traditional Christmas jumper is a crewneck, which means that on a cold walk between the office and the pub you have nothing on your head and nothing round your neck. This one is knitted like a jumper but hooded like a sweatshirt, with a Santa and elf design across the front.
It is a heavier garment than a printed sweatshirt, which cuts both ways. Outdoors in December it is genuinely welcome. In an overheated function room with the radiators on it becomes a lot, quickly.
Worth knowing
- Best where the evening moves. Office, then walk, then pub, then walk home — this is the format it suits.
- Sized S–XXL on an Asian fit, so size up. Check the chest measurement rather than trusting the letter.
- The knit gives it real texture, which reads better in person than in photographs.
If your entire evening is indoors and seated, a lighter fleece-lined crewneck will be more comfortable across four hours.
