Description
Most light-up jumpers are printed sweatshirts with LEDs pushed through them. This one is actually knitted, with the bulbs built into the garment, which is a considerably better-looking result.
Knit gives the lights something to sit in. On a flat printed sweatshirt the bulbs look bolted on; worked into a knitted pattern they read as decoration, in the way fairy lights on a real tree read differently from fairy lights on a wall.
Batteries are included, which sounds minor and is not — a light-up jumper that arrives on the morning of the party without cells is simply a heavy jumper.
Before the day
- Test it when it arrives, not an hour before you leave. Faulty light units are the most common problem with these.
- Buy spare cells anyway. The included ones are rarely long-life.
- Find the off switch and learn where it is before you need it during the speeches.
- Check whether the battery pack detaches before washing. Usually it does. Confirm rather than assume.
