Description
"I don't know, Margo." Four words, and if the other person knows the film you have made a friend for the evening.
This is a quote jumper in green, built around one of the most repeated exchanges in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation — the film that, in 1989, turned the Christmas jumper from sincere knitwear into a joke and effectively started the modern tradition.
Quote jumpers work differently from picture jumpers. There is no visual gag to appreciate at a distance; the entire payload is the reference. That makes them extremely strong in a room that knows the film and completely inert in one that does not. Fortunately Christmas Vacation is about as safe a bet as exists — most offices contain at least two people who can recite it.
It pairs naturally with the matching red "Why Is the Carpet All Wet, Todd?" jumper if you can persuade a colleague to coordinate.
