Description
A light-up jumper that is actually knitted, which most are not.
The majority of LED Christmas jumpers are printed sweatshirts with a wire taped inside. This one is a knit with the bulbs built into the fabric, so it looks like a jumper with the lights off — which matters more than it sounds, because you will be wearing it for hours and the lights are on for minutes at a time.
Everything else about LEDs still applies. The battery pack lives in an inside pocket, it has to come out before washing, and the switch is a small thing you cannot find by feel when someone asks you to turn it off during a speech.
Before the day
- Test it the day it arrives. Wiring faults are common and December returns are slow
- Buy spare batteries even though some are included
- Find the off switch in advance
- Pack out, cool wash, dry flat
- Knit plus a crowded room equals genuinely hot — this suits a cold venue
