Description
The original article, not the parody of it.
Fair Isle patterning is what every ugly Christmas jumper is exaggerating, and worn straight it looks like clothing rather than costume. That makes it the version you can wear to work, to your in-laws and to the pub without changing, which no light-up reindeer manages.
Twenty pounds is good for a knit. Expect acrylic or a blend at that price, which means warm, machine-tolerant and prone to pilling where a bag strap rubs — none of which are faults so much as the terms of the deal.
Choose this if
- You want festive without a joke attached
- You expect to wear it beyond December — this works all winter
- You are buying for a man whose taste you do not know; this is the safest guess available
