Description
Tipsy Elves are the reason this category exists in its current form, and the price reflects that.
Before they came along, an ugly Christmas jumper was something you found in a charity shop. They turned it into a designed product — properly knitted, deliberately over-committed, and made to a standard that survives being worn every December for a decade rather than falling apart in January.
At fifty pounds you are buying knit density, finish and design that has actually been thought about. Whether that is worth it comes down to one question: is this a jumper you will own for years, or an outfit for one night?
Worth knowing
- Real knit with proper ribbed cuffs and hem — visibly different from a printed sweatshirt at conversational distance
- Warm. Genuinely warm. Plan for a t-shirt underneath and a heated room.
- Men's sizing, cut true — one of the few brands here where the letter on the label means what it says
Judge it on cost per wear rather than on the ticket price. A jumper that comes out of the loft every year for ten years is a different product from one that gets photographed once.
If you want lights as well, their light-up range is built on the same knit.
