Under the low, warm lighting that party venues actually use, sequin work catches every light source in the room and moves as you do. It reads as more genuinely festive than flat print, and it photographs far better — which is where most of the value of a Christmas jumper is realised.
No battery pack, nothing to switch off during the speeches, nothing that dies halfway through the evening. For an event that runs late, that is a real advantage over a light-up jumper.
Worth knowing
- Wash carefully — inside out, cool, gentle cycle, never tumble dried. The sequins are what fails first.
- They catch on jewellery and other people's clothing in a crowded room
- Check the measurement; sequinned panels have less give than plain fabric
Best for evening events specifically. Under office strip lighting at eleven in the morning it is considerably less impressive than it is at eight at night.
