Blizzard Bay have been making these for long enough to have worked out the things that go wrong, which is worth more than it sounds in a category full of one-season sellers.
This is a knitted jumper with lights built into the design rather than a printed sweatshirt with LEDs pushed through it. The difference shows: worked into knit, the bulbs read as decoration; bolted onto a flat print, they read as a novelty gadget.
It sits at the more affordable end of their light-up range, which generally means a simpler light pattern rather than a lesser garment.
Before the day
- Test it the day it arrives. Faulty light units are the single most common fault, and returns take time in December.
- Buy spare batteries. Assume the supplied ones will not last the evening.
- Find the off switch before you need it during the speeches.
- Check whether the battery pack detaches for washing — it usually does, but confirm it.
