Description
A printed torso on a sweatshirt, and everybody knows exactly what they are getting.
The design puts an unlikely set of abdominal muscles across the front with a Christmas treatment on top. It works because it is entirely visual — no slogan to read, no reference to get, legible from the far side of a room.
It is also self-deprecating rather than boastful, which is the version of this joke that works. Nobody wearing this is claiming anything; the gap between the print and the wearer is the entire point.
Read the room
- Good: a party, a pub, a jumper competition where volume wins
- Think first: a mixed office event — it is a printed bare torso, and a small number of workplaces will not find that funny
- No: anything customer-facing
Unisex sizing, straight cut. Wash inside out and cool to keep the print looking like a print rather than a rumour.
