How we rate jumpers

A blue Polar Express-style train jumper whose print actually reads “Bipolar Express” — the listing title censors it. A mental-health pun; read the room before wearing it to work.

Description

The listing calls it “Pipolar Express,” but we checked the artwork: the garment itself reads “Bipolar Express”, over a steam train in classic Polar Express knit-pattern style, white on blue. The joke is a mental-health pun, and you should know that before it arrives.

The construction is better than the joke category usually gets: 95% recycled polyester with 5% spandex, a soft all-over print rather than a transfer, in a genuinely wide unisex size run from XS to 4XL.

Read the room

  • Some people wear this kind of design about their own diagnosis, on their own terms — in that spirit it lands as dark-humoured self-description, and it is not our place to argue.
  • Worn as a joke about other people, it stops being funny very fast. This is not an office jumper, and it is definitely not a Secret Santa gift.
  • The train itself is a lovely piece of knit-pattern design; the double meaning is invisible at a distance and unmissable up close.

At $64.99 it sits in the premium print tier, and shipping runs slow (a week-plus from the seller). If you want the train without the second meaning, the site’s Film & TV collection covers the safer end of the reference game — and when the Christmas jumper goes too far is the honest read before buying this one for anyone but yourself.
