Description
Cotton rather than polyester fleece, which for a child's jumper is the better material.
Most children's Christmas tops at this price are polyester, and cotton behaves better for a garment worn all day: it breathes, it does not build static, and it copes with the hot washes that a nursery inevitably requires. The print will still fade if you cook it, but the fabric itself will not go bobbly after a fortnight.
Choose this if
- The jumper will be worn for a full day at school or nursery rather than for an hour at home
- You expect to wash it repeatedly through December, which you will
- You want something that might survive being passed to a younger sibling
Age-based sizing between two and seven varies enormously between sellers. Measure a top your child already wears — chest width and body length — and compare against the seller's chart rather than trusting the label.
Santa and reindeer is the most conventional pairing there is, which is a strength at a school event: no explanation needed, nothing anyone can object to, and every other child will recognise it instantly.
