Matching siblings normally breaks down because the age range is too narrow, and you end up with a toddler in a knit and an eleven-year-old in a printed sweatshirt. Twelve years of sizes in one style means the family photograph actually works, which is the reason most people are buying this in the first place.
Being knitted, it survives storage and gets handed down, which improves the maths considerably when you are buying two or three. It also means acrylic against the neck, and the older end of that range will complain about it before the younger end does.
Before the day
- A soft long-sleeved top underneath solves scratchiness for the younger ones
- Size up if between sizes — knit gives, and a slightly big jumper is fine
- Cool wash and dry flat; never hang a child's knit wet, it grows
- Check with a teenager first. Fourteen-year-olds have firm views on matching outfits
