Description
Eleven pounds, ages 4 to 10, and a design chosen by someone who has met a small boy.
Santa is on it, but so are a dinosaur, a train and a bulldozer — which is the reason this one actually gets worn. A child will keep on a jumper about things they already like and will spend the day trying to take off one that is merely festive. That is the whole calculation with a five-year-old.
At this price the print will not survive years of washing, and it does not need to. It needs to survive December: a nativity rehearsal, a school jumper day, two family visits and whatever ends up on the front of it. Sweatshirt fleece machine washes without ceremony, which knitwear does not.
Before the day
- Order early — cheap children's sizes sell out from the middle out, and 5-6 and 7-8 go first
- Size up if they are between sizes. Children's sizing at this price is optimistic, and a loose sweatshirt still looks right
- Inside out, cool wash, air dry — the print will last the season and probably the next
- Not warm enough on its own for a cold playground; it is a layer, not a coat
If you want something in a heavier cotton knit for photographs, the Redodeco children's pullover is the better-made option at a higher price.
