Description
The jumper for a child who has decided Christmas jumpers are for little kids.
That happens somewhere around ten, and it is the point at which most families give up. A retro gaming design gets round it because the reference is theirs rather than yours — it reads as something they chose, not something a parent put them in, which is the entire negotiation at that age.
Fleece-backed, so it is soft, machine washable and survives a school day without ceremony. It is also plain enough in cut that it gets worn in January, which is not true of anything covered in snowflakes.
Before the day
- Size up if they are between sizes. Older children want their clothes loose, and youth sizing runs close
- Cool wash inside out, air dry; the print is the fragile part
- Let them see it before the day — at this age, being surprised into an outfit is the failure mode
- Indoor layer; a coat still goes over it
Tstars make several designs pitched at this bracket. The dino gamer version works for a slightly younger child.
