Description
Towards the top of the range, and the money is in the knitting.
This is a properly knitted crew-neck jumper with the reindeer pattern worked into the fabric. At forty-five pounds you are buying yarn density, finish and a garment that holds its shape through years of wear rather than months — not a louder joke.
The design is patterned and traditional rather than deliberately hideous, which makes it one of the pieces here that works as an ordinary winter jumper as well as a festive one.
Worth knowing
- Acrylic knit, warm and structured — plan for a layer underneath and a heated room
- Check the chest and length measurements; knit has less give than fleece
- Wash cool and dry flat rather than hanging, or the shoulders will drop
The right way to judge the price is cost per wear. A tasteful knitted jumper gets worn for several winters; a novelty print gets photographed once. On that basis this is better value than most of what sits below it.
