Description
A one-word swap on the most familiar carol title there is, and it is the sort of pun that gets an immediate groan followed by an immediate laugh.
What makes it work is that it is self-aware. The joke is about ugly Christmas jumpers rather than merely being one, which lands well with anyone who has been dragged into jumper day slightly against their will. It is participation with an eyebrow raised.
Fifth Sun's crew fleece underneath is the same blank they use across their licensed ranges — brushed lining, real weight, prints that hold.
Worth knowing
- Completely safe — a pun on a carol offends nobody
- Text-led, so it reads at conversational distance rather than across a hall
- Men's sizing, true to size
Good for the person who was not going to take part and has decided to, on their own terms. That is a surprisingly large share of any office.
