Tipsy Elves do light-up better than most, and charge accordingly.
The selling point here is brightness — these are properly visible LEDs rather than the dim orange pinpricks that most cheap light-up jumpers use. Test it the day it arrives, not the night of the party. Battery packs on light-up knitwear are the single most common failure point, and the pack usually sits in an internal pocket at the hem, which is exactly where you cannot reach it discreetly once you are wearing it.
Before the day
- Find the off switch before the speeches. There is always a moment when blinking lights become rude
- Buy spare cells now — they are almost always coin cells or AAs, and nowhere sells them at 7pm on a Friday
- The battery pack comes out before washing, every time, without exception
At around eighty dollars this is at the top of the light-up market, and the honest comparison is that a $30 LED jumper does the same trick less brightly for one season. If you wear it annually, the Tipsy Elves is the better buy; if this is a one-party purchase, it is not.
