The word costume sets the right expectation. This is designed to be seen, not to be a good jumper — a full graphic on light stretch fabric, which is why it costs seventeen pounds and not thirty. Nobody at the party will be assessing the yarn.
What you get for the money is coverage, which is the thing that actually reads across a room, and a garment you can put in the washing machine without a ritual. What you do not get is warmth or longevity. It is thin, and the print will look tired after a couple of seasons of washing.
Choose this if
- You need something for a specific party rather than a jumper for the winter
- You want to look like you made an effort without spending like it
- You are kitting out several people and the total matters
Stretch fabric usually means it fits a range of shapes, but print-first brands cut close — go by the chest measurement and size up if you are between. Cool wash, inside out, no drier.
